The Giblin Street Brickworks Redevelopment is a commendable exemplar of water Infrastructure projects that champion the role of Landscape Architecture in the creation of new suburbs and their pedestrian identities.

The design team are to be applauded for their leadership in challenging the perception of water abundancy in Tasmania, through the promotion and delivery of strong Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) and ‘Water Sensitive City’ lead principles. The jury were further impressed with the ownership of quantifiable benefits of water infrastructure both ecologically, and socially through its enhancement of the recreation needs of a new residential community. The project helps promote a standard and method of WSUD infrastructure adoption and staging for new projects within the local housing industry in Tasmania
