Barangaroo South Public Domain is one the most high-profile projects in New South Wales, Australia and even the world. It’s profile is not to be awarded - but the intelligence in design - direction and headship and final product are what lead the jury to its decision.
This urban landscape project contributes on many levels – connecting all transport modes, new and existing activated streets and laneways, retail and dinning – creating 24-hour economy - supporting safe and sustainable, live, work and play - all at the iconic Sydney Harbours edge.The design also considered curated program of artworks and installations, interpreting stories of heritage, environment and Indigenous culture.
The leadership is clearly evident – the shear amount or coordination and consultation would been incredible - navigating these waters to balance opinions, illustrates this complexity. The jury panel recognised the results and acknowledged that it has been tested and proven as one of New South Wales award winning precincts.
